Thanks!

Hello, wonderful people who comment on my blog:

I have never been sure of the protocol. Am I supposed to comment back to you in my own comments? Or should I hunt you down at your own sites and comment back there?

I don't ignore your comments. I dote upon them, I beam with happiness that you take the time. Kenju, Miguel, Mirty, Badaunt, EdWonk, Kimberly, Cheryl, Prochein Amy, Craig, AJ, SigmundCarlandAlfred, Michele, Lynn, Victorio, Terrilynn, Scribblingwoman, Girl on the Escape, Pearl, Natalie, Jude, Coturnix, Square1, Isabella, and of course Anonymous, and everybody else who has stopped by and left a thought:

Thank you.

Darn it! It didn't take my comment first time I left it! Is this another IQ test I failed?

as i said on the missing comment:

What you should do is bring tea (with cream and honey, of course) and cookies so we can spend the afternoon talking of nothing in particular.

I'm not that far from LAX!

Then, I said: Half the comments I leave, I leave for your amusement, so as long as you promise to giggle at all the appropriately inappropriate spots, I'm happy.

Or (I said) to sorta-kinda-paraphrase-or-quote Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets: "I'd be the happiest man on Earth if that just did it for me..."

THANKS!, Melinama, I always read, but don't always have time to comment. We do love to get comments, though, don't we? It fires us up for the next post. You never fail to educate and amuse, and we thank you for that.

They say, and I have found, that if you respond to commenters in your own comments it sort of helps foster a sense of community. 'Course, I'm sure no one will mind if you click over to their blogs and comment there, either!

Oh my, when you do have an answer to this please let me know. I have always wondered the same thing. many visitors have told me that they would like me to repond in the comments but I rarely do.

If you do not get an answer may I borrow this question? I will of course credit you and comment back in the comment section of course.

Oh yes, I almost forgot to say...hello!

I write responses to all the comments I get, but that's because I get so few and I usually just say thanks for dropping a line. One of the blogs on my roll is someone who gets about forty comments on every post she writes and she replies directly to all of them. But she's not an introvert like you. You post more in a typical day than I do in a month. Where would you find time to reply to comments? I often leave comments on blogs whose readers I think might enjoy my current post. I try to comment regularly on blogs, such as yours, that I have added to my blogroll. I write many more comments than I do posts. Maybe that's because I took more classes in critical theory than in creative writing.

Thanks for the mention!

Re. the comments thing: I tend to reply to comments, as least when I have something to say. As Dr. B. says, it fosters a sense of community, keeps the conversation going. But yeah, hope on over to our houses, too...

Wow, this is so nice, OK I'll try commenting in my own comments, it just adds to the recursive quality of the whole blog thing, doesn't it?

And I do visit you all - but since I am of such a lurking nature I often don't leave comments as I should. I'll try...

Jane,

I don't comment as often as I should, but I am reading (and enjoying)!

I hope all is well with you!
