Melinama usually eschews the news.

I've been trying to reduce my exposure to upsetting news I can do nothing about, but last week I slipped up and accidentally reviewed the headlines at Discovery News. Here are most of them.

These headlines are very depressing and only politics seems to be worse than impending environmental disaster. Today in California we have our gubernatorial elections and this puts me in deep despair. I will vote even though it all seems so hopeless. However on a positive note I see in your previous post that your album is coming along. Great news, something to look forward to! Keep us posted...

I saw a documentary last year at IMAX about the fragile coral reefs and how global warming was ruining them. It is so very sad. Earler this week I heard on NPR about how the forests in Kenya are being impacted. It is horrible.

This kind of news is so awful. I just saw Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" for a second time. Here in Boston we are experiencing an incredibly warm and comfortable autumn. But behind it all, I know it has to be fallout from environmental devastation.
