Mark (formerly known as Mike) does Illustration Friday: "Choose"

"Mike" is really Mark. He says: The viewer can Choose to see the objects as front edge forward or front edge back.

He liked the way his picture looked before he took the masking tape off so I'm including that picture, too.

Maybe its just me, because I see no comments, but I like these kind of optical puzzles. The line boxes like these highlight the role of viewpoint and observer choice in the way we see. The way the orientation of the box changes by a mental step has always facinated me. I do not know of an auditory illusion to match these visual ones.

I'm fascinated by the way you can see the masking tape under the paint in picture number two, and the texture is cool. It seems mysterious.
